The Same Love

One of my husband’s favourite songs at the moment is ‘The Same Love’ by Paul Baloche. The other day I started playing it on the guitar in G (the easiest key to play anything!) and my son Caleb immediately picked up that I was using easy chords and wanted to try it himself.

It wasn’t very long before he could play the whole thing from memory, and with a rhythm that was a lot better than mine! So I’ve linked to a video of him playing it.

What I love about this song is that it shows God as great and amazing, but also that He loves us so much that He knows our name and is calling us to come to Him with mercy that is beyond our understanding.

Here are the words:

You choose the humble and raise them high
You choose the weak and make them strong
 You heal our brokenness inside
 And give us life

The same love that set the captives free
The same love that opened eyes to see
Is calling us all by name
You are calling us all by name
The same God that spread the heavens wide
The same God that was crucified
Is calling us all by name
You are calling us all by name
You take the faithless one aside
And speak the words “You are mine”
You call the cynic and the proud
 Come to me now

Your son is so sweet. I enjoyed listening to him play and sing this beautiful song.

I’ve never heard of this artist (Paul Baloche)before. I’ll have to check out his album.

    Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Thanks Chris! I had doubts about putting this on, but then a lady was telling me how Caleb singing was a ministry to people in itself so I thought maybe I should 🙂

Hi Cathy, thank you for your kind comment. Paul Baloche is really gifted at songwriting I think, and has written many of the modern Christian songs that are around today.
